Fashion International, London Fashion Week, 2014
Daniel Syiem showcased at the Fashion International show at London Fashion Week 2014 on the 13th September at a historic venue, The Royal Horseguards Hotel in London. Only 6 designers from all over the world were selected for this showcase and Daniel Syiem was selected by an eminent jury. Taking this wonderful opportunity to showcase our culture and heritage fabrics and textiles to the world, Daniel Syiem’s Ethnic Fashion House launched the Amaranthine collection there. Promoting sustainability and slow fashion this eco-friendly collection received unprecedented response by fashion critics, media, press and buyers. We took this platform to bring to notice our weavers, our state and promote and create and invite collaborations and FDIs into our region.
The Times of India’s Miss Diva/Miss Universe Auditions, Shillong, 2014

We enabled the Shillong auditions of this prestigious beauty pageant the winner of will represent India in the Miss Universe pageants. We are doing whatever is there in our capacity to promote our state and encourage North Eastern talent.
Creative Encounters’ 18 degrees Festival

Government of Meghalaya, Department of Arts & Culture presented this event where Daniel Syiem opened the show followed by a presentation by fashion designer Ritu Beri.  Daniel Syiem, Creative Head, DSEFH & Janessaline M Pyngrope, Business Head, DSEFH were honoured and facilitated by Dr. Mukul Sangma, Chief Minister, Meghalaya for their contribution towards reviving local textiles.
Grand Finale at World Environment Day, Shillong, 2014

We were delighted to give our Umden weavers the recognition they deserve by honouring them at this platform- a show for Forests & Environment Department (FED), the Meghalaya Basin Development Authority (MBDA) and Worldview Impact in line with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) theme - Raise Your Voice and Not The Sea Level in Shillong, Meghalaya.

Being Their Voice
We understand the hurdles faced by our artisans in sustaining their craft, therefore we try to do whatever is there in our capacity to promote them, give them a platform and enable them to conserve their stories and their art. We honour them, encourage them, learn from them and join hands with them to preserve a dying craft.
