International Fashion Encounter, Toronto, Canada, 2015
Toronto, an international hub of art, culture, business and finance is the latest global city where Daniel Syiem’s Ethnic Fashion House (DSEFH), showcased its latest collection ‘FreeSpirit’ by well-known Indian fashion designer Daniel Syiem. We received an overwhelming response as models sashayed down in his collection at the International Fashion Encounter (IFE) 2015 held at one of the grandest hotels in Toronto- Royal Fairmont York. This two-day fashion show and exhibition was produced by “Toronto Fashion Academy” and coordinated by “Just Creative Services”. An eclectic mix of designers from Latin America, the Middle East and South Asia presented and exhibited at IFE amongst a huge presence of celebrities, media, buyers and the fashion fraternity in Toronto
Salon de Gusto/ Terra Madre, Turin Italy, 2014
DSEFH’s efforts at working at understanding the hurdles faced by the artisans in sustaining their craft, actions to promote them give them a platform and enable them to conserve their stories and their art were observed by the North East Slow Food & Agrobiodiversity Society (NESFAS), organization. They recommended Daniel Syiem strongly for his work with the indigenous fabrics of the Meghalaya to participate in the Salon de Gusto/ Terra Madre, the world’s largest food and wine fair and a once in two years world meeting of all the indigenous communities of the world. He participated in the same along with the NESFAS contingent.
